Vegas Local

“Machine Quilting Solutions” Author

Christine Maraccini

“I’m going to teach you how to learn these designs so that you can actually quilt them freehand on your own.

I know the tricks and I can’t wait to share them with you!”

                                                                 ---Christine Maraccini

Christine Maraccini discovered her love for quilting many years ago when she decided to put her sewing skills to work making baby quilts for friends who were starting their families. She has been in love with this art form ever since and continually looks for new approaches to the old standards. Christine began a successful machine-quilting business in 2000 and since then she has received various awards on the local and state level, had her work published in American Patchwork and Quilting, and appeared on and helped create a quilt for ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Christine’s book, “Machine Quilting Solutions,” was published in 2007. It is filled with machine quilting information and patterns that will reiterate and complement what you learn in class.

ABOUT SARAH

Sarah Vedeler, quilt artist and teacher, combines her love of quilting and embroidery to create stunning embroidered appliqué quilts using BERNINA Embroidery Software. As a new artist on the scene, Sarah brings a refreshing perspective to quilting with her unique style. Her beautifully digitized designs reflect her stated purpose in life of creating beauty, inspiration and infinite creative joy!

January 2009 saw the birth of Jewels in Chocolate, a quilt Sarah made to enter in the 2009 Arizona Quilters Guild Annual Show. It eventually won 2nd place in the Machine Embroidery Category. In  February she became a Traveling Teacher for the Arizona Quilters Guild, and she’s since taught for chapters all over Arizona.  In May 2009 she was given a heaven sent opportunity to attend the International Quilt Market in Pittsburgh, PA. This led to several introductions, and an invitation for Jewels in Chocolate and another of her new creations, Heather Feather aka the ‘Be You’ Quilt, to be showcased in the Brewer booth at Bernina University in San Francisco in June 2009.  Then in August 2009, the first article about Sarah as a quilter appeared in print in the August 2009 edition of Brewer Advantage – the monthly newsletter of Brewer Quilting and Sewing Supplies that is distributed to Bernina dealers and quilt shops across the USA.  Needless to say, Sarah’s shot to stardom has rushed to her and she has met the challenge.

Sarah’s Favorite BERNINA Features…

“My first embroidery machine was a Bernina Artista 165E, followed by a Bernina Artista 200E. I am now very excited and proud to own a new Bernina 830 embroidery machine! I love my BSR for effortless free motion quilting. I love my mega hoop and the new Jumbo hoop for all the space to stitch out beautiful embroidered appliqué designs. After my 165E, I thought my 200E was fast – until I tried the new 830. I love the speed that allows me to get so much more done – and the quality of the stitches. And I love the Bernina Embroidery Software which allows me to play and create stunning embroidered appliqué designs.”
